COOKING & PREPARATION:
Ingredients:
• Coquilettes pasta
• Water
• Salt
• Pasta sauce of your choice (cheese sauce, marinara, olive oil, etc.)
• Optional: butter, grated Parmesan cheese, fresh herbs, sautéed vegetables, protein (chicken, ham, etc.)
Instructions:
1. Boil Water:
• Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a rolling boil. Add salt to the water; a general guideline is about 1-2 tablespoons of salt per gallon of water.
2. Add Coquilettes Pasta:
• Gently add the Coquilettes pasta to the boiling water. Stir the pasta immediately after adding it to prevent sticking.
3. Cook the Pasta:
• Follow the package instructions for the recommended cooking time. Coquilettes are often cooked until “al dente,” meaning they should be tender but still have a slight firmness when bitten.
4. Test for Doneness:
• About 1-2 minutes before the suggested cooking time is up, start testing the pasta for doneness. Take a piece of Coquilettes and taste it to ensure it’s cooked to your preferred texture. Remember, pasta continues to cook slightly after draining, so it’s better to undercook slightly than overcook.
5. Reserve Pasta Cooking Water (Optional):
• Before draining the pasta, you can reserve a small amount of the pasta cooking water. This starchy water can be added to your sauce later to create a smooth and cohesive pasta dish.
6. Drain the Pasta:
• Once the Coquilettes pasta is cooked to your liking, carefully drain it in a colander placed in the sink.
7. Mix and Serve:
• Add the drained Coquilettes pasta to the pan with the sauce and toppings. Gently toss everything together to ensure even coating.
