COOKING & PREPARATION:

Ingredients:

• Pork jowl slices

• Olive oil or cooking oil of your choice.

• Salt and pepper (to taste)

• Optional: Herbs and spices of your preference (such as garlic powder, paprika, thyme, or rosemary)

Instructions:

1. Season the Pork Jowl: Start by patting the pork jowl slices dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture. Season both sides of the slices with salt, pepper, and your preferred herbs and spices. Allow the seasoned pork jowl to rest for a few minutes, so the flavours can infuse.

2. Preheat the Cooking Surface: Preheat a skillet, grill, or frying pan over medium-high heat. You can also use a griddle or a barbecue grill for a smoky flavour.

3. Add Cooking Oil: Once the cooking surface is hot, add a drizzle of olive oil or cooking oil of your choice to prevent sticking and help achieve a beautiful sear.

4. Sear the Pork Jowl: Carefully place the seasoned pork jowl slices onto the hot cooking surface. Allow them to sear undisturbed for a few minutes on each side until a golden-brown crust forms. Depending on the thickness of the slices, this should take around 3-5 minutes per side.

5. Cook to Desired Doneness: Reduce the heat to medium and continue cooking the pork jowl slices until they reach your desired level of doneness. Pork jowl is best enjoyed when cooked to medium or medium-well, retaining its succulence and tenderness.
