COOKING & PREPARATION:
1. Thaw the Crab Sticks (Optional):
• While many frozen crab sticks can be cooked from frozen, you may choose to thaw them in the refrigerator for a few hours or according to the package instructions if you prefer.
2. Boiling Method:
• Fill a pot with enough water to fully submerge the crab sticks.
• Bring the water to a boil over high heat.
• Gently add the crab sticks to the boiling water.
• Cook the crab sticks for about 3-5 minutes or until they are heated through. Cooking times may vary based on the size of the crab sticks.
3. Steaming Method:
• Place a steamer basket in a pot and add water to just below the bottom of the basket.
• Bring the water to a simmer over medium heat.
• Arrange the crab sticks in the steamer basket without overcrowding.
• Cover the pot and steam the crab sticks for about 5-7 minutes or until they are heated through.
4. Microwaving Method:
• Place the crab sticks on a microwave-safe plate.
• Microwave the crab sticks on a medium power setting for about 1-2 minutes or until they are heated through.
• Rotate or flip the crab sticks halfway through the cooking time to ensure even heating.
5. Check for Doneness:
• To ensure that the crab sticks are fully cooked, check their internal temperature. They should be hot all the way through.
6. Serve:
• Once the crab sticks are heated, remove them from the cooking method of your choice.
• Serve the crab sticks as desired, either on their own as a snack or as an ingredient in various dishes such as sushi rolls, salads, pasta dishes, or seafood stir-fries.
