COOKING & PREPARATION:
Ingredients:
• Frozen fish tofu
• Water or broth for boiling
• Optional: soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, scallions, dipping sauce
Instructions:
1. Boil Water or Broth:
• Fill a pot with enough water or broth to fully submerge the frozen fish tofu. If using water, you can enhance the flavour by adding some ginger slices, scallions, or a splash of soy sauce.
2. Add Frozen Fish Tofu:
• Gently add the frozen fish tofu to the boiling water or broth. Ensure that the fish tofu is fully submerged.
3. Cook the Fish Tofu:
• Allow the fish tofu to boil for about 5-7 minutes. Cooking times may vary based on the size and thickness of the fish tofu.
4. Test for Doneness:
• To ensure that the fish tofu is cooked through, cut one piece open. The texture should be tender and uniform throughout.
5. Remove from Heat and Serve:
• Once the fish tofu is cooked, carefully remove it from the boiling water or broth using a slotted spoon or strainer. Allow any excess liquid to drain.
6. Serve:
• Arrange the cooked fish tofu on a serving plate.
7. Optional: Flavour Enhancements:
• Drizzle a small amount of soy sauce or sesame oil over the fish tofu for added flavour.
8. Garnish and Enjoy:
• Garnish the dish with chopped scallions, cilantro, or sesame seeds for a fresh and vibrant touch.
9. Serve Immediately:
• Fish tofu is best enjoyed hot and freshly cooked. Serve it as an appetizer, part of a larger meal, or incorporate it into your favourite dishes, such as soups, stir-fries, or salads.
