COOKING & PREPARATION:

1. Preheat the Oven or Stovetop:

• If you’re using the oven, preheat it to around 425°F (220°C). If you prefer to cook on the stovetop, have a large skillet or frying pan ready.

2. Thaw the Okra (Optional):

• Thawing frozen okra is optional, but it can help to reduce excess moisture and ensure even cooking. To thaw, simply leave the frozen okra in the refrigerator overnight or place it in a colander and rinse it under cold running water until fully thawed.

3. Dry the Okra (Optional):

• If you’ve thawed the okra, pat it dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture. This step will help prevent splattering when cooking.

4. Sautéing or Frying (Preferred Methods):

• For sautéing, heat a small amount of oil or butter in a skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the thawed and dried okra and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it becomes tender and slightly browned.

• For frying, heat oil in a deep-frying pan or pot to around 350°F (175°C). Dip the thawed and dried okra in a mixture of flour or cornmeal seasoned with salt and pepper. Fry in batches for approximately 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

5. Baking (Alternative Method):

• If you prefer a healthier option, you can also bake the okra. Spread the thawed and dried okra on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they are tender and crispy.

6. Season and Serve:

• Once the okra is cooked to your liking, season it with your favourite herbs, spices, or a sprinkle of salt. Serve it as a delectable side dish or a flavourful addition to salads, soups, or stir-fries.
