Tuna Pasta Baked

Move over Mac and Cheese! Hello, tuna and pasta!

400g penne pasta
40g butter
2 tbsp plain flour
2 cups milk
3/4 cup Cowhead cheddar cheese
3 can Farmland tuna, drained


1. Preheat oven to 220°C.

2. Lightly grease an ovenproof dish.

3. Cook pasta in a medium saucepan of boiling, salted water, following packet directions, until tender. Drain, reserving 1/4 cup cooking liquid. Return pasta to pan.

4. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.

5. Add flour and cook, stirring, for 1 minute or until bubbling.

6. Remove from heat and gradually stir in milk until combined.

7. Return to heat. Cook, stirring constantly, for 3 to 4 minutes or until sauce boils and thickens.

8. Remove from heat. Stir in 1/4 cup cheese. Season with pepper.

9. Add to pasta with tuna and reserved cooking liquid.

10. Toss to combine.

11. Spoon mixture into prepared dish.

12. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.

13. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and golden.

14. Serve.
